Keep in mind ultra cold temperatures are typical between the months November through March in the North country. If you plan doing your elopement during these months, make sure you and all parties involved are well prepared and have all the hiking equipment you need. Decide what kind of scenery you'd like to have for your wedding day wether it is an outdoor adventure or a romantic indoor ceremony.

DECIDE WHERE TO ELOPE

Location, location, location. There are so many beautiful locations in the Adirondack mountains where you should consider tying the knot. Depending on where you are coming from (Buffalo, Albany, Rochester, Saratoga Springs, or outside of New York), Lake Placid can be a bit of a drive. Here are some of my favorite places in and around Lake Placid where you should definitely consider eloping:

During the Summer and early Fall months, the hiker traffic substantially increases. Try to avoid popular trails if you wish for a more private elopement such as Indian Head, Cascade and Giant mountain.
